Error description
During a restore operation the client fails to restore file(s) by skipping the file(s), and then in the final statistics fails to report an error or the number of failed objects. The client trace shows the following related error messages: 2015-12-11 10:08:33.378 [001379] [4] : restcore.cpp ( 821): rcWriteFile(): rc(129), cmStatus(4), outBuffSize(32768), actSize(0) 2015-12-11 10:08:33.378 [001379] [4] : restcore.cpp ( 931): RestoreFiles: RC: 129 received from fioWrite 2015-12-11 10:08:33.378 [001379] [4] : restcore.cpp ( 954): RestoreFiles: Assumed compressed file not compressed Restoring file data without expanding this shouldn't happen any more!!! Where the RC 129 maps to RC_NOT_COMPRESSED. The issue is caused when the restore algorithm hit a very rare anomaly in the files being restored, where the client is not coded to handle this properly. Note this is purely a restore issue, the data is not corrupt and can be restored with the proper code fix. . Initial Impact: Medium - most unlikely to ever happen. . Tivoli Storage Manager Versions Affected: All supported versions at 7.1.4.1 and lower. . Additional Keywords: Restore TSM IBM Spectrum Protect .
