Question & Answer
Question
Attempts to open a Microsoft Word document results in the error "A certificate (signing or issuer) has expired" using IBM Rational DOORS Requirements Management Framework Add-on.
Cause
The certificate of irdrmfao.dot is expired.
Answer
Use the irdrmfao.dot file which is attached below.
Note: The certificate of this file is valid until November 14th 2019.
This irdrmfao.dot file is based on the version supplied with the latest fixpack of Requirement Management Framework (6.1.0.9) and includes the fix for APAR PI63392.
This version is fully backward compatible with all previous versions since 6.0.0.2 (included) and also 5.4.0.5.
And partially backward compatible with all the other versions (from 5.4.0.0 up to 5.4.0.4, 6.0 and 6.0.0.1). There is only one limitation : the option "Record heading numbers" should not be enabled (by default it is off).
Instructions
Update the irdrmfao.dot file as follows:
- Identify the Microsoft Office startup folder.
In Microsoft Word go to Tools/Option/File locations (if using the classic menu) or go to Options/Addins and look for the location of irdrmfao.dot.
- Replace the irdrmfao.dot in the Microsoft Office startup folder with the new one
