Error description
A user edits the IBM MQ Managed File Transfer monitor via the WebSphere MQ Explorer. In the panel where pre/post source and destination transfer programs are specified the user clicks the CONFIGURE button that references a definition containing "\\ etc." (That definition was reached by having to specify three blackslashes initially). Whether or not changes are made (and 'OK' is clicked) the "\\" is updated to be "\". This behavior is unexpected.
Local fix
Add an additional backslash to the number required each time you edit the definition of a pre/post transfer
Problem summary
**************************************************************** USERS AFFECTED: This APAR affects users of the: - WebSphere MQ v7.0.1 or v7.1 Explorer - WebSphere MQ v7.5 Explorer - IBM MQ v8 Explorer who use either the WebSphere MQ v7.0.4 File Transfer Edition or Managed File Transfer plug-in to create resource monitors or transfer templates that have a program call transfer action and specify backslashes in either the executable/program or argument/parameters fields. Platforms affected: Windows, Linux on x86-64, Linux on x86 **************************************************************** PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The WebSphere MQ Explorer File Transfer Edition / Managed File Transfer plug-in did not escape backslashes that were specified in either the executable/program or argument/parameters fields for a pre or post transfer program call when creating a resource monitor or transfer template. Therefore, if two backslashes were supplied, they become one and each time the definition was opened using the "Configure" button.
Problem conclusion
The product code WebSphere MQ Explorer File Transfer Edition and Managed File Transfer plug-in has been updated so that backslashes and round parentheses will be escaped by a preceding backslash character. --------------------------------------------------------------- The fix is targeted for delivery in the following PTFs: Version Maintenance Level v7.0 7.0.4.6 v7.5 7.5.0.7 v8.0 8.0.0.5 The latest available FTE maintenance can be obtained from 'Fix List for WebSphere MQ File Transfer Edition 7.0' http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27015313 The latest available MQ maintenance can be obtained from 'WebSphere MQ Recommended Fixes' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006037 If the maintenance level is not yet available information on its planned availability can be found in 'WebSphere MQ Planned Maintenance Release Dates' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006309 ---------------------------------------------------------------
