Error description
Backup fails if Tivoli Data Protection (TDP) for Hyperv host system is Windows 2012R2 and it runs out of available mount points during a backup operation by exceeding the maximum number of mount setting on the TSM Server, Multii-session backup for the TDP for HyperV client requires multiple mount points to be available on the Tivoli Storage Manager server. If a mount point isn't available, the backup will fail. With TDP for HYPERV, instead of failing, we retry the backup . However, on Windows 2012 R2 Update 1 instead of retrying, the backup will simply fail. See TSM Client documentation that describes retry after exceeding MAXNUMMP here: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSGSG7_7.1.2/com.i bm.itsm.client.doc/r_opt_vmmaxparallel.html?lang=en
Local fix
Workaround: Set up MAXNUMMP as documented in the TSM Server documentation. See update node MAXNUMMP in the following documentation. http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSGSG7_7.1.1/com.i bm.itsm.srv.ref.doc/r_cmd_node_update.html%23r_cmd_node_update
