Question
What kind of licenses are consumed by the IBM Rational DOORS OSLC integration?

This information used to be undocumented, but this has been resolved in the IBM Rational DOORS Information Center. Please refer to the License options in Rational DOORS Web Access topic.
Answer
The IBM Rational DOORS OSLC integration requires DOORS Web Access (DWA). The OSLC integration allows DOORS to integrate with Change, ClearQuest (CQ), and Collaborative Lifecycle Management (CLM).
The OSLC integration requires DWA 1.4 or higher, which can consume a DOORS license if it does not find a DWA license. If your license server serves both DOORS and DWA licenses, DWA will attempt to fetch a DWA license first. If the license server DWA is using has DOORS licenses available, you do not actually need to have DWA licenses.
The OSLC integration will consume a DWA license as described in License options in Rational DOORS Web Access. If there are no DWA licenses available, it will consume a DOORS license.
If you are using DWA 1.4, the OSLC integration will consume a license, even if you already have a DOORS session running -- this means your session will use two licenses in this case. DWA 1.5 was enhanced so that the OSLC integration would no longer consume an extra license. For further details, please refer to Request for Enhancement (RFE) 19334 at the IBM RFE Community.
DWA 9.6 resolves APAR PI16719 (DWA_REVIEW LICENSE IS CONSUMED DURING RICH HOVER ON A DOORS LINK FROM ANOTHER APPLICATION, LIKE RTC).
Note
A DWA license will be returned only after the session times out (30 minutes by default ).
