Error description
DVSThread-80 db2 application, spawned from TPC Removed Resource Retention job is unable to complete task resulting in Transaction locks, etc. This condition causes Transaction logs to rapidly generated resulting in loss of available disk space, as task is not able to complete. i.e. db2diag.log 2015-03-20-17.53.28.812000-240 E35862F1125 LEVEL: Warning PID : 3532 TID : 10220 PROC : db2syscs.exe INSTANCE: DB2 NODE : 000 DB : TPCDB APPHDL : 0-20595 APPID: IP_Address.58480.150320215151 AUTHID : DB2ADMIN HOSTNAME: host_name EDUID : 10220 EDUNAME: db2agent (TPCDB) 0 FUNCTION: DB2 UDB, data management, sqldEscalateLocks, probe:1 MESSAGE : ADM5501I DB2 is performing lock escalation. The total number of locks currently held is "483356", and the target number of locks to hold is "241678". Problem conclusion
The issue has been solved by reducing the amount of data purged at once.
