Issue in IBM Rational DOORS with filter conditions based on DXL attributes and the list of filter rules

Question & Answer

Question

When I am defining an advanced filter in IBM® Rational® DOORS®, and I add a rule that includes a DXL attribute condition to the list of rules, the DXL is run immediately on all the objects in the module. How do I stop this happening?

Cause

When you add a new filter rule to the list of rules in the Advanced tab on the Filtering window, the filter rule is applied immediately to the module to make the Next and Previous buttons available.

Answer

Download filter_gui.zip, which is attached to this note, extract it, and follow the instructions in the readme.
