IV60955: IE 8 BROWSER CRASHING WHEN ENTERING LINES IN RICH TEXT EDITOR WHEN USING DIV INSTEAD OF BR

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• You can reproduce the error with any Rich Text Editor
  component (RTE). Please find below a step by step to
  reproduce it using the SR application:
  .
  1. Create a new SR..
  2. Type something in a RTE component, then press <ENTER>. It
  will create 2 Lines..
  3. Repeat step 2 a few times..
  4. Use Up Arrow to move the cursor to a blank line between
  lines with text..
  5. Press <ENTER> a couple of times..
  6. IE8 tab will crash and show a dialog box stating that IE
  has stopped working.
  
  CURRENT ERRONEOUS RESULT:
  IE 8 crash
  
  Need to allow option via system property to choose between br
  and div

Problem conclusion

• Added system property (webclient.richtext.blocknode) for rich
  text editor block node for enter key. Should be set to 'BR',
  'DIV', or 'P'. Default value is 'DIV'.
  
  The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance
  package:
