MCF: Unable to launch Configurator, Application Manager or System Management Console

Resolving The Problem

When you launch an applet application from the Sterling MCF Console, you should see the following things:

1) Console (browser) page should appear to refresh.
2) A small popup window with text like: "Do not close this window." should appear.
3) Depending on your Java settings, the Java Console will open. If not, you may see a Java icon in your system tray through which you can open the Java console.
4) After some time you should see a splash screen for the application you are launching.
5) Finally the application should open in a separate window.

If you do not see any of items 2 - 5, chances are you have a popup blocker enabled that is preventing the popup window in item 2 (sometimes referred to as the launcher) from opening.

Many browsers nowadays come with built-in popup blockers, and usually disabling this or configuring it to allow the site you are using will solve the problem.

If that doesn't solve the problem, check first with your IT team in case they have installed some third-party popup blocker, or security/firewall software that is interfering. Or you may also have some other issues with your browser that are not related to the Sterling MCF application.

If you are able to get the launcher window to come up, but the application is still not starting, this may require changing your security settings. Please check for additional troubleshooting articles that cover this separate issue.
