Error description
Probe PU522020 may be generated during broker startup or a Probe PU522010 or SIGSEGV will be generated during publish/subscribe.
Local fix
1) Until we provide a fix, please remove iseries qmgr from other linux qmgr machines from the broker topology 2) Remove the messages from 'SYSTEM.BROKER.INTER.BROKER.COMMUNICATIONS' with correlid prefix C1D4D8E8) 3) issue clrmqbrk .
Problem summary
**************************************************************** USERS AFFECTED: Users running broker in a mixed OS environment where the character set of one OS differs from other. The operating systems like AS400 uses EBCDIC whereas UNIX/LINUX/WINDOWS uses ASCII character set. Platforms affected: All Distributed (iSeries, all Unix and Windows) **************************************************************** PROBLEM SUMMARY: 1. The pub/sub broker fails to start when different types of control messages(ASCII AND EBCDIC) are exchanged between brokers. This problem occurs when the broker receives control message in non-native character set. Operating systems like AS400 use EBCDIC whereas UNIX/LINUX/WINDOWS use the ASCII character set. Typically Probe PU522020 will be generated for this problem. 2. When an AS400 broker extracts the request type from the control message, the request might be converted to an invalid value. Typically Probe PU522010 or SIGSEGV will be generated for this problem.
Problem conclusion
1. Control message processing has been modified to support both ASCII and EBCDIC control messages. 2. Appropriate code changes have been made to correct the invalid request type or the SIGSEGV. --------------------------------------------------------------- The fix is targeted for delivery in the following PTFs: v6.0 Platform Fix Pack 6.0.2.3 -------- -------------------- Windows U200279 AIX U811346 HP-UX (PA-RISC) U811630 HP-UX (Itanium) U811631 Solaris (SPARC) U811632 Solaris (x86-64) U811633 iSeries SI27288 Linux (x86) U811634 Linux (x86-64) U811635 Linux (zSeries) U811636 Linux (Power) U811637 Linux (s390x) U811638 The latest available maintenance can be obtained from 'WebSphere MQ Recommended Fixes' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006037 If the maintenance level is not yet available, information on its planned availability can be found in 'WebSphere MQ Planned Maintenance Release Dates' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006309 ---------------------------------------------------------------
