Problem
Backorder to cancelled status
Symptom
Platform:
We are trying to configure the system to take orders that
have
had items put into BackOrdered status to Cancelled Status automatically.
We
have set the SHIP_CONFIRM "Cancel Order on Inventory Shortage" rule to
"Yes".
We have set the Allocation Rules to "Line Ship Complete: checked",
"Line Ship
from single node: checked", and "Cancel Order for Inventory
Shortage: checked".
Cause
Resolving The Problem
The order will get cancelled on the following rules:
1. If there is an
inventory shortage and if you have set the rule "Cancel order for inventory
shortage" checked to yes, then the order will get cancelled even when you try
to create the order. Otherwise the order will go to backorder status.
2. If you intentionally take the status from Backordered to Backordered
to Node this will not trigger the allocate order to cancel the order. The order
has to be "backordered from node" from PORTAL or a shipment advice has to be
sent from external (third party) distribution system to backorder from node
which will cause automatic cancellation of order.
So take an order to
sent to node status and backorder from portal. Test if this causes cancellation
of order in platform. I believe that your rule settings seem to be correct.
