How to troubleshoot Loftware printing

Question & Answer

Question

How to troubleshoot Loftware printing

Cause

Answer

Depending on the printer setup, the $LOFTWARE_INTALLATION/WDDrop/Error could retain error logs. However, the most consistent way to look for errors in Loftware printing is to log into the "LPS Status Client" and then looking for "Critical Failures" under the printer with which you are concerned. Here all the failed prints will be listed and they can sorted by time. Double-clicking a failed print will list the print data along with the cause of the print failure.
Every print has a two components: print format (.lwl file) and print data (.pas file format data). If we instruct a printer to print as per a .lwl file and if that file is missing in the Loftware server, then the printer will not be capable printing even if it has the print data.
