    Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.
    Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • The problem occurs when the JAR file contains a shell script, or
    any text prepended, before the start of the zip file.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The JVM has been updated so that it can be started even when
    extra text is prepended to the jar file. Note, in this case, the
    JVM options in the JAR manifest file are ignored.

       8    SR4 FP10  (8.0.4.10)
