Error description
When compiling with the -qinfo compile option with the cnd message group enabled, and invalid error message is output claiming a syntax error, with no line number. cnd | nocnd Possible redundancies or problems in conditional expressions. === TEST CASE === void a(void) { enum { b = 1/(int)( 1*sizeof(int) >= sizeof(char) ) }; } $ xlc -c test.c -qinfo=cnd 1506-046 (S) Syntax error. $
Local fix
Avoid -qinfo=cnd usage.
Problem summary
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The issue occurs during casting of the evaluated sizeof() expressions. USERS AFFECTED: Users with code containing a similar code pattern as above, and the -qinfo=cnd option
Problem conclusion
The issue was corrected and the error message is no longer output.
