Problem summary

• The problem is caused when JIT compiled code does not remove a
  reference to an object when it should have. As a result, the
  object does not get cleaned up by the Garbage Collector when it
  should be, which can cause unexpected behaviour, specifically in
  Spark.
  

Problem conclusion

• The JIT compiler has been updated to properly remove references
  to objects in this case.
