Error description
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When configuring the Portal Server as a non root user and the Portal Server is running at the start of the configuration attempt, the following message in displayed incorrectly. Component can not be managed due to insufficient privileges This message is displayed because the script InstallPresentation.sh changed the way that it stopped the Portal Server during configuration.by RECREATE INSTRUCTIONS: 1) Install ITM 6.30 or higher Portal Server on Unix or Linux as non-root. 2) Configure the Portal Server as the same non-root user. 3) Start the Portal Server as the same non-root user. 4) Configure the Portal Server while it is still running. Whether you configure the Portal Server interactively or silently you will see messages like the following displayed at the end. ... running InstallPresentation.sh ... InstallPresentation.sh completed Info - If you would like to update the machine restart scripts, you can enter a root password: KCIIN2805E ERROR: You are not running as root and protocols "[SSH, REXEC, RSH]" are not enabled on this machine. KCIIN2803E ERROR: The machine boot scripts can not be updated automatically for you. Please manually run the following command as root: /Tivoli/IBM/ITM/bin/UpdateAutoRun.sh -h /Tivoli/IBM/ITM Agent configuration completed... Would you like to restart the component to allow new configuration to take effect? 1) Ignore the message. 2) Stop the Portal Server before performing configuration
Problem summary
Message incorrectly displayed during non-root Portal Server configuration. When configuring the Portal Server as a non-root user while it is running, the following message is incorrectly displayed: Component can not be managed due to insufficient privileges.
Problem conclusion
