APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Running the ux/lz OS agent generates multiple messages that are
  periodically repeated similar to the following to be added to
  candle_installation.log:

  RECREATE INSTRUCTIONS:
  
  1) Install OS agent, Logs agent and Universal Agent (ux,ul,um)
     from ITM 622 agents image and upgrade to 622 FP1.
  2) Do NOT run cinfo at all during this testing.
  3) Configure all agents
  4) Start the OS agent
  5) Review logs/candle_installation.log and notice multiple
     occurrences
     of the message described in the Problem Description.
  6) Leave the agent running for at least an hour.
  7) Repeat step 4 and notice that more messages described above
     have been added.
  
  Note: The following command can be used to see the number of
  messages generated from cinfo calls:
  # grep '\[cinfo\]' candle_installation.log
  

Local fix

• 1) Make a backup of $CANDLEHOME/bin/dynarch.shl
  2) Edit $CANDLEHOME/bin/dynarch.shl
  3) Locate the line containing the string
     @(tacmd|CandleGetJavaHome)
  4) Change the string from:
      @(tacmd|CandleGetJavaHome)
     to
      @(tacmd|CandleGetJavaHome|cinfo)
  5) Save $CANDLEHOME/bin/dynarch.shl
  6) Move $CANDLEHOME/logs/candle_installation.log
     to $CANDLEHOME/logs/candle_installation.old.log
  7) Start the OS agent
  8) Monitor $CANDLEHOME/logs/candle_installation.log and notice
     that the reported messages do not appear anymore.
  
  NOTE: Any time you modify files in $CANDLEHOME/bin, they will be
        over-written if you upgrade any component in the
        installation.
  

Problem summary

• There are multiple 'digup -l cinfo -u' messages that are
  periodically repeateded in the candle_installation.log when the
  Linux or Unix OS agents are started.
  

Problem conclusion

• The code was changed to remove digup logging for cinfo programs
  where multiple entries were filling up the log.
  
  
  The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance
