Error description
APAR Type: Field Approver Initials: RP Severity: 3 Reported Release: 622 Compid: 5724C04EP Tivoli Enterprise Portal ABSTRACT: Filters on decimal attributes do not work PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: . Attempting to place a client side filter on a column that contains decimal values does not work. For example, setting a filter for values > 1.5 will still show values that are less than 1.5. . RECREATE INSTRUCTIONS: . 1. Go to Windows OS/Disk/Logical Disk I/O 2. Right-click the bottom table view and select Properties 3. Select the filter tab 4. Select one of the columns with fractional values and enter a filter. 5. Click OK . The table will still show rows that don't meet the filter criteria This problem occurs after applying the following MDVs: 6.2.1-TIV-ITM-FP0001
Local fix
A workaround is to enter the filter value as it's unscaled integer representation. For example, if the attribute being filtered has a SCALE value defined in the ODI file, then enter the filter value as: . n * 10^s . Where n is the desired filter value, and s is the scale value in the ODI. For example, to filter values > 0.300 on an attribute with a scale of 3, enter 300 (0.300 * 10^3)
Problem summary
From the properties selection from within a TEP workspace, you can set filters on fields. When these fields contain a decimal portion, it was found that the fractional portion of the number entered in the filter input field was not getting treated correctly. The scale was being incorrectly applied such that if the user enters 123 it would be treated as if they entered .123.
Problem conclusion
The scale was fixed so that the number entered in the filter entry area by the user is treated as it should be. The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance packages: | fix pack | 6.2.2-TIV-ITM-FP0003 | MDVREGR 6.2.1-TIV-ITM-FP0001 |
