Error description
Saving a copy of a product provided workspace located on an application group folder results in a new workspace in which the views return no data. It is not necessary to modify any of the views as described in the PMR text. Simply saving a copy of the workspace results in the problem. Detailed Recreation Procedure: - select a product provided workspace on an application group folder (ie. the "VMWare VI" folder for the VMWare application) - select File/Save Workspace and save the workspace with a new name - navigate away from the application group folder - navigate back to the application group folder and select the new workspace No data will appear in the views on the workspace Related Files and Output: TEPS: ERROR (UNIT:ctdatabus IN ER) (UNIT:ctsql IN ER) (UNIT:ctreport ALL)
Local fix
Change the selection under the Query Results Tab from "Let System Assign Automatically" to "Let User Assign Explicitly". Then manually assign the correct systems. In the case of the "VMWare VI" workspace, select the ESX agents instead of the VM agent.
Problem summary
The NODES constraint which indicates the query results source setting (implicit here) did not have the persistent bit set. This caused the NODES constraint to be removed when the new workspace was being saved.
Problem conclusion
Added code to check if the NODES constraint has been set and if yes to set the persistent bit if it has not been set already. See QuerySelectionDialog.saveQueryResultSource() where NODES constraint is added and set to be persistent. Also see Context.saveContext() where any constraints that are NOT persistent are removed. The fix for this APAR is included in the following maintenance vehicle: | fix pack | 6.2.1-TIV-ITM-FP0002 | fix pack | 6.2.2-TIV-ITM-FP0002
Temporary fix
Change the selection under the Query Results Source tab to "Let user assign explicitly" and press OK button (leave Assigned MS/MSLs alone). Go back to Query Results Source tab panel and change the selection back to "Let system assign automatically" and press OK. Save workspace changes.
