Error description
Environment: ITM 621 Unix/Lunix Problem Description: The command reference for itmcmd says the -c command option in 'itmcmd agent -c start xx' indicates that the configuration file used on agent startup should not be updated or regenerated. This command option appears to be ignored. Detailed Recreation Procedure: a) Install an agent (ux, ul, lz, cq, or whatever) b) itmcmd config -A xx c) ls -l CANDLEHOME/config/xx.config d) itmcmd agent -c start xx e) ls -l CANDLEHOME/config/xx.config The last step will show the time stamp of xx.config has changed after the agent was started.
Local fix
No current local fix or Workaround itcmd config -c will update and regenerate the config file
Problem summary
In 6.21, the option -c does not work. pc.config file is regenerated even though the option is specified.
Problem conclusion
There are two causes for the issue: 1. In the installer codes, the option is overwritten by the default value which is without -c. 2. For Unix/Linux OS agent, the codes used to start watchdog regenerate the config file The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance packages: | fix pack | 6.2.1-TIV-ITM-FP0001 | fix pack | 6.2.2-TIV-ITM-FP0002
