How/When Container SCM is associated with Container No ?

Question & Answer

Question

How/When Container SCM is associated with Container No ?

Answer

containerizeWave will generate the ContainerNo. Once the container No is generated, user can go ahead and print the ContainerNo, there by generating the Container SCM.

As the SCM for a container is generated, Container No and Container SCM are associated.

Now, in the RF gun, when the user is asked to scan the Container SCM, user can scan the above generated SCM.
Note, that the system will not accept any other SCM than what is printed above. This is because, Container No is already associated to Container SCM.

Warehouses, usually print the container SCM where they know which SCM to scan while prompted by the RF gun while doing OutBound Picking.

In a scenario where is a roll of Container SCM's, which is to be applied on a Outbound Container after scanning the Container Id.

In these cases, it is recommended not to Print the Container SCM's by the Sterling.
Have the Container SCM separately generated.

As the ContainerNo is not printed, there is no SCM generated. Hence there is no association between ContainerNo and Container SCM.

While the user is prompted to enter the Container SCM while performing OutBound Pick task, user can scan any of the SCM.
Here the container SCM is associated to the container on the fly as and when the user scans the label
