How to generate Yantra Deadlock Traces?

Question & Answer

Question

How to generate Yantra Deadlock Traces?

Answer

A deadlock is a situation wherein two or more competing actions are waiting for the other to finish, and thus neither ever does.

1) Set yfs.app.identifyconnection=Y in yfs.properies or yfs.yfs.app.identifyconnection=Y in versions 8.0 and greater than 8.0
2) Run JVM with –DDLOCK_LOG_DIR=<Dir Name>

When deadlock detected, system dumps the snapshot of DB (active sessions and locks held by them) in directory specified with filename Yantra_Deadlock_trace.nnnnnnnnnn

This information is critical to troubleshoot the deadlock issues.

Please note that this parameter will work only with Oracle database.
