Question & Answer

Question

What are Inco terms? Is INCO terms supported as of Sterling Supply Chain Application (SSCAP 7.11)?

Answer

Inco terms or international commercial terms are a series of international sales terms, published by International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and widely used in international commercial transactions.

They are used to divide transaction costs and responsibilities between buyer and seller and reflect state-of-the-art transportation practices. They closely correspond to the U.N. Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. The first version was introduced in 1936 and the present dates from 2000.

They are mainly used in billing. Some Inco terms indicate separate billing for duties and taxes. FedEx Power ship server (FXRS) supports various Inco terms, but requires different information depending on the Inco term used.

More details are available at http://www.iccwbo.org/i ncoterms/id3040/index.html

In Sterling Supply Chain application 7.11, Inco terms are not captured using any of the Out of the Box fields or processed. It is not supported.
