Problem
Attempts to export to PDF in IBM Rational DOORS result in truncated hyperlinks in the output document.
Symptom
In a DOORS module use document generation to export text objects to a PDF file.
The document shows the complete URL for each hyperlink but longer string length URLs can not be activated.
Hover over the link and the tool tip shows a truncated URL.
Steps to reproduce:
- Enter a long URL into object text
For example: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/doorshlp/v9/topic/com.ibm.door…
- Click File > Export > Document Generation > PDF...
- Click Export
- Open the PDF file
Cause
This has been identified as a product defect under APAR PM47288.
Resolving The Problem
WORKAROUND:
Copy the entire URL string and paste it into a browser address bar.
