I performed the following operation. 1. Edit the ACP profile 2. Specify the "ctime" to the "NewLogBasedOn" parameter and save it. 3. Distribute the profile to the endpoint. 4. perform the following operation to check - touch file - chmod NNN file - chgrp group file Continue from step-1. changing the "NewLogBasedOn" parameter to "mtime" and "cmtime". The result is as follows. The event was sent on all of cases. ------------------------------------------------------ NewLogBasedOn | touch file | chmod | chgrp | ------------------------------------------------------ mtime | sent event | sent event | sent event | ------------------------------------------------------ Local fix: none

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of TEC EEIF adapters on Unix **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When an adapter config file contains the * following keyword and value: NewLogBasedOn=mtime, the adapter * will still treat the log as new when the size does not change, * but the ctime does change. **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply maintenance vehicle listed below **************************************************************** This functionality was not implemented on Unix- on creation time was tracked, etc.
Problem conclusion
ctime was the only attribute preserved in the structures that tracked each logsource. Added mtime for Unix and associated logic to update, check, etc. Now the Unix adapters behave as the Win adapters in that mtime, ctime and cmtime are all valid checked values as per the existing doc on these values. The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance packages: | LA Fix | 3.9.0.8-TIV-TEC-LA0091 Note: Search IBM Technical Support web site for maintenance package availability.
