Error description
If your client-side human service has a coach that uses a date or time variable, the variable has no value when a flow out of the coach is triggered, that flow assigns a value to that variable, and that flow returns to the same coach. Instead, you see the following error message in the following browsers: Chrome: "Cannot read property 'time' of null" Internet Explorer: "Unable to get property 'time' of undefined or null reference" Firefox: "_258[key] is null" (Note: 258 may be a different number) PRODUCTS AFFECTED IBM Business Process Manager (BPM) Advanced IBM BPM Standard IBM BPM Express
Local fix
To avoid this issue, initialize the variable before showing the coach and instruct users to not clear the date value. Alternatively, do not give the variable a value when it is null and you are returning to the same coach. For example, add a coachValidationError to notify the end user that a date must be entered instead of assigning it a date.
Problem summary
No additional information is available.
Problem conclusion
A fix that prevents errors by allowing an empty or null value for a date or time variable in a coach to be changed in a flow that returns to the same coach, for example by using a script, is currently targeted for inclusion in an IBM BPM V8.5.6.0 cumulative fix.
