Error description
If you are using activities that have interrupting events attached, you might occasionally observe completed business process definition (BPD) instances that are closed yet contain active tasks marked RECEIVED. Even if you have interim fix JR52533 installed on your system, you might observe this problem occasionally.
Local fix
In IBM Process Designer, in Process Inspector, use REST or JavaScript APIs to manually resume the instance. The open task automatically completes.
Problem summary
This problem occurs, when the following actions occur at the same time: - The implementation of the activity is running - The attached interrupting event uses the message Both actions read, modify, and save the task. In such a situation, the outcome depends on the exact timing: sometimes, an incorrect RECEIVED status replaces the correct CLOSED status.
Problem conclusion
A fix is/will be available for IBM BPM V8.0.1.2 that locks the task before modifying it. Interim fix JR52533 also locks the task before modifying it but only in a specific code path. This fix locks the task in all affected code paths. On Fix Central (http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral), search for JR53167: 1. Select IBM Business Process Manager with your edition from the product selector, the installed version to the fix pack level, and your platform, and then click Continue. 2. Select APAR or SPR, enter JR53167, and click Continue. When you download fix packages, ensure that you also download the readme file for each fix. Review each readme file for additional installation instructions and information about the fix.
