Problem
Error when starting AMOS that a particular font does not support style 'Regular'.
Symptom
When you start IBM SPSS AMOS you are presented with an error window advising that the font does not support the style 'Regular' there is sometimes an additional window which closes after a short period titled 'Assertion Failed: Abort=Quit, Retry=Debug, Ignore=Continue'
Cause
The most likely reason for this is a corrupt True Type Font (TTF)
Diagnosing The Problem
The content of the main error window is similar or the same as the below:

Resolving The Problem
To resolve the error you need to replace the font as it is likely to be corrupted.
If possible copy the font from another computer with the same operating systems (preferably one that has Amos installed and working) or alternatively extract the font from the installation media for the version of Windows you have installed.
Please see http://www.microsoft.com/ or your PC manufacturer for support of your operating system if you do not know how to extract the font file from your Windows installation media.
Once you have the .TTF file copied to your computer simply right click on the file and select install from the context menu.
Once the font has been restored start Amos and the problem should not be present.
