Error description
DSAppWatcher.sh can appear to hang, or generates unexpected errors during execution.
Local fix
Edit DSAppWatcher.sh, find the lines starting "su - $ADMINUSER", and remove the "-".
Problem summary
**************************************************************** USERS AFFECTED: Operations Console **************************************************************** PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The DSAppWatcher script must be run by dsadm. If it is run by root, it will re-invoke itself as the dsadm user. It does this via a 'su - dsadm -c...' command This su command includes '-' which means that it will run the users profile. This is not required and can cause problems depending on what is in the profile. **************************************************************** RECOMMENDATION: At 8.7, apply the workaround documented in Circumvention. ****************************************************************
Problem conclusion
Temporary fix
Comments
