Question & Answer

Question

How do you change the background color of a selected Object in IBM Rational DOORS?

Answer

The following instructions must be performed in the given order to have the background color of a selected object in the module changed to a custom user defined color.

  1. Login to Rational DOORS client as the user to whom you want to apply this background color change to.
  2. In the DOORS database explorer, Click on Tools -> Options.
  3. In the Options window, click on the 'Display' tab.
  4. Now under the 'Schemes', select the 'Database default' and in the right pane, Under 'Item' look for the entry named 'Current Background'
  5. Double click on 'Current Background' and now choose your desired color for the background and click 'ok'.
  6. Now click on 'Save as' and type a different name for this new display scheme and click on 'Ok'. Now this new name will be displayed under the available 'Schemes', Highlight the new scheme, click on 'Apply' and 'OK' on the 'Options' window.

This should change the background color of a selected object in all the modules.

Note: This scheme will be listed for all the users in the Rational DOORS database, However it will be applied only to users who have selected it in the 'Options'.
