Error description
SYSPLEX to DB2 for z/OS is automatically enabled on the DB2 clie nt. To currently disable SYSPLEX support you would need to cat alog a DCS database in the DCS directory, and you would need to ensure the SYSPLEX DCS parameter is NOT specified. . When using a direct connection to DB2 for z/OS without a DCS dir ectory (for example if you are using the IBM DB2 ODBC/CLI DRIVER ), then there is currently no way of disabling this support. This APAR will create a new CLI keyword that can be added to the connection string of the CLI application to help disable client- side SYSPLEX support.
Local fix
Catalog a DCS directory without specifying SYSPLEX as a DCS para meter. If using a direct connection to DB2 for z/OS, then chan ge that to a datasource connection if possible.
Problem summary
Users Affected: CLI applications. Problem Description: A new CLI keyword was added to disable SYSPLEX support without relying on the DCS directory. Problem Summary: The CLI keyword/value pair: DISABLESYSPLEX=TRUE or the connection attribute SQL_ATTR_DISABLE_SYSPLEX=1 can be used to disable sysplex support.
Problem conclusion
First fixed in DB2 UDB Version 9.1, Fixpak 6
