How to generate CORBA IDL files for Classes containing <<Class Interface>> stereotype in Rational Rhapsody

Question & Answer

Question

How do you generate CORBA interface definition language (IDL) files for Classes containing <> stereotype in IBM Rational Rhapsody?

Cause

You might want to generate the CORBA IDL files for both the Package and Classes within the same IDL file.

Answer

Apply the following steps to generate the information for a Class which has a Stereotype of <<Class Interface>> in the same IDL file as the one used for the Package <<CORBAModule>>.

  1. Launch Rhapsody 7.5.2 and open a project file

  2. Within this project, create a component file (Right click on "Component" >> "File")

  3. Add both <<CORBAModule>> Package and <<CORBA Interface>> Classes as new elements to this component file

  4. Define this component file as Logical and do not add any extension to its name (you can use the same name as the <<CORBAModule>> package)

Generate the code for the package and classes now.
