Problems with the Search function in IBM Rational DOORS 9.2.0.0

Troubleshooting

Problem

In Rational DOORS 9.2 when using the "Enter" key, while searching for a string in an Advanced search window, instead of going to the next instance, the found string in the red-boxed object text is deleted.

Symptom

To replicate the issue:

Open a Rational DOORS 9.2 module in edit mode. Select Find. Click the advanced button in the Find window and check Highlight matches.

Enter a search string (one that would appear in the Object text) and click Find Next.

When the tool finds the first instance of the search string, the found instance is highlighted by a red box around the DOORS cell, and the search string in that cell is highlighted.

Now hit Enter on your keyboard, which is expected to take you to the next instance, because the Find Next button appears to be active. Instead of going to the next instance, the found string in the red-boxed object text is deleted.

The highlighted text should not be given the focus that could result in mistaken edits during simple find procedure.

Resolving The Problem

The problem is solved in IBM Rational DOORS 9.3. We recommend upgrading to this version.
