Error description
When a UCA is created in the web IBM Process Designer and "Variable" is selected as the implementation type, the UCA does not work. You receive an exception that is similar to the following exception: Internal Script error: com.lombardisoftware.server.core.UndeclaredVariableRuntimeExcept ion: Undeclared local variable, input or output parameter name found in service "2b036a-9ec6-467a-8f64-463e3ce9b3" item "UNKNOWN" location "UNKNOWN". You must declare it in order to use it. PRODUCTS AFFECTED: IBM Business Process Manager (BPM) Advanced IBM BPM Standard IBM BPM Express
Local fix
If the UCA model is already in the incorrect state, you must perform one of the following actions to recover it: - Switch UCA implementation to use a service as the implementation and then revert to variable implementation. - Re-create the UCA, being careful not specify a data mapping and then remove it.

This issue occurs when a variable mapping is present but then removed.
Problem conclusion
A fix that prevents the incorrect assignments in UCA model during authoring is included in IBM BPM V8.5.7 cumulative fix 2017.03.
