Disclaimer

This solution contains information about modifying the system registry. Before making any modifications to the Microsoft Registry Editor, it is strongly recommended that you make a backup of the existing registry. For more information describing how to back up the registry, refer to Microsoft Knowledge Base article 256986

  1. Open the Microsoft registry (Start > Run > type regedit)
  2. Navigate to LOCAL_HKEY_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Telelogic > DOORS_SERVER > 9.x > Config

  3. Check the ServerData entry to en sure the path for the data directory is pointing to correct location

  4. Confirm that you have specified the database installation on separate folder called data
    For example: C:\Program Files\Telelogic\DOORS_9.x\data

  5. Confirm that the path to the database is local to the machine where your Rational DOORS DDBS is running, NOT on the shared/networked drive

  6. Check if the data directory has following files: servdata.lck, servdata.dtc
    • If these files are present, either:
      • Delete them

        or
      • Rename them to another name of your choice

  7. Check the port number assigned to the database in the registry editor
