Troubleshooting
Problem
Attempts to open a project in IBM Rational Rhapsody results in "Error initializing VBA".
Symptom
You receive the following error when opening a project:
Error initializing VBA
Cause
The reported problem is due to incorrect or corrupt installation of VBA add-on.
Environment
Resolving The Problem
In order to resolve the reported problem use one of the methods below:
Note: It is recommended to first try Method 1 and if the problem still remains unresolved proceed to Method 2.
Method 1:
- Navigate to following location:
"<Rhapsody_Install_Directory>\Rhapsody\7.x\VBA"
- Locate the file vba6.msi
- Right click and select Uninstall
- Follow the on screen instructions to complete the un-installation
- Right Click on vba6.msi and select Install
Method 2:
- Navigate to Add or Remove Programs
- Select the affected version of Rational Rhapsody and click Remove. This would uninstall Rational Rhapsody from your system
- Install Rational Rhapsody without selecting the add-on VBA
- Once the installation is complete follow Step 1 and Step 5 mentioned in the Method 1
