How do you generate IBM Rational DOORS installation log file?

This log will help you analyze any possible installation problems.
Answer
In order to generate the Rational DOORS installation log file apply the following steps:
- Open a command prompt (Click Start > Run and type cmd > click OK)
- In the command prompt window navigate to the location where the Rational DOORS installer is stored
- Execute the following command:
For *.msi installer:
<InstallerName>.msi /l*v c:\temp\output.log
Note: An empty log file must be created first in the desired location.
For *exe installer:
<InstallerName> /v"/l*v c:\temp\output.log"
Note: This command will create the log file automatically.
