Troubleshooting
Problem
You try to run the XMI toolkit from Rational Rhapsody 'Tools' menu but nothing happens.
Diagnosing The Problem
Open the Tools menu in Rational Rhapsody and select the XMI Toolkit to import or export XMI files.
Resolving The Problem
- Open a Windows command prompt and navigate to Rhapsody\<version>\Sodius\XMI_Toolkit\bin
- Edit the XMI4Rhapsody.bat: check the variables XMIJDK, XMIDIR, XMIRHP
sample:
SET XMIJDK=C:\IBM\Rhapsody\8.3\jdk\jre
SET XMIDIR=C:\IBM\Rhapsody\8.3\Sodius\XMI_Toolkit
SET XMIRHP=C:\IBM\Rhapsody\8.3
- Run this batch file from command line and check for any error messages (for example, javaw.exe not found)
- Compare the error messages and output with a working installation
- When you can launch the XMI Toolkit from command line, but it still fails from Rhapsody Tools menu, check the helper entries for the XMI kit in Rhapsody Tools Menu > Customize > Helpers
Note: The helper entries in the Rhapsody Tools menu are configured to run XMI4Rhapsody.exe. The exe file then launches the bin\XMI4Rhapsody.bat file.
