The 'Paragraph Style' attribute does not populate in the managed/unmanaged changes mode

Troubleshooting

Problem

The 'Paragraph Style' attribute does not populate in the Managed/UnManaged Changes mode while formal module is configured for using DOORS-Change Integration.

Cause

When you use "Export to DOORS" option from Microsoft Word, the DOORS macro creates the 'Paragraph Style' attribute in DOORS. This newly created 'Paragraph Style' attribute does not show up when module is configured for using DOORS-Change Integration.

Resolving The Problem

This is because, by default, this 'Paragraph Style' attribute does not have 'Generate History' option in the attribute properties.

The DOORS-Change Integration requires that all attributes that you want to be able to save when Requirements Change Management is enabled to have history turned on.

As a workaround:

If you already have a module configured for Change Integration; all you need to do is turn off the integration temporarily. To do this:

  1. Go to Edit -> Attributes
  2. Modify the definition of the 'Paragraph Style' attribute in DOORS to have 'Generate History' option checked.

Now, you can have 'Paragraph Style' attribute managed/unmanaged by Integration.
