How to transfer a DOORS database from one drive or a partition to another

The following steps move or transfer a DOORS database:

1. Ensure all the users have saved their data and are logged out of DOORS
   
   
2. Shutdown 'DOORS DB server x.x' (x.x being the version of DOORS)
• Open Services (Local) (Click Start > Run > type services.msc)
• Right click the service with the name ‘DOORS DB Server x.x’ (x.x being the version of DOORS)

3. Copy the DOORS Data Folder
   
   The location of the Data folder can be found from the registry key “ServerData” present in the path:
   32bit OS:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Telelogic\DOORS_Server\x.x\Config

   64bit OS:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Telelogic\DOORS_Server\x.x\Config

   (x.x being the version of DOORS) As shown below:
   
   
   
   
4. Paste the copied DOORS Data Folder at the desired location in the target drive.
   
   
5. Replace the registry key “ServerData” present in:
   32bit OS:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Telelogic\DOORS_Server\x.x\Config

   64bit OS:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Telelogic\DOORS_Server\x.x\Config

   (x.x being the version of DOORS) with the new path to the copied Data folder in the new target drive.
   
   For example: E:\data where 'data' is the copied DOORS Data folder.
   
   
6. Start the 'DOORS DB server x.x' (x.x being the version of DOORS)
7. Open Services (Local) (Click Start > Run > type services.msc)
8. Right click the service with the name ‘DOORS DB Server x.x’ (x.x being the version of DOORS)
