Question
How do you know which template to use when exporting data into IBM Rational DOORS?
Cause
You see multiple export to DOORS icons in Microsoft Word and are not certain which export to use.
Answer
Each exporter to DOORS is listed in the Global Templates and add-ins section of Microsoft Word.
- When the checked item displays a yellow DOORS icon in the Toolbar icon, the template is for DOORS version 8
Example:

- When the checked item displays a blue DOORS icon in the Toolbar icon, the template is for DOORS version 9
Example:
Only use the template for the version of DOORS that you intend to export information into.
