Question & Answer
Question
When PDF files are opened with Open Client, they open in a browser window. How can the workstation be configured to open PDF files directly in Adobe Reader?
Cause
Some programs let Open Client control how they open files. However, Adobe Reader has an option that can prevent applications, such as Open Client from opening files outside of a browser window.
Answer
To open the PDF in Adobe Reader:
- Run Adobe Reader:
- In the Edit menu, select Preferences.
- In the Internet category, uncheck Display PDF in Browser.
- Click OK to close the window.
- Run Open Client.
- Navigate to the file and use Open from the toolbar or double click on the document. Do not use IDM View or it will still open in a browser window.
