Error description
The DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS' GEN function issues a message: ADB1659W Table (base) >database<.>tablespace< will be created using CURRENT RULES = 'STD'. The DB2 required LOB table space, auxiliary table, and index on the auxiliary table for each LOB column will be created explicitly. The existing LOB table spaces, auxiliary tables, and index for each auxiliary table for the base table will not be generated.

**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users of the DB2 Administration Tool for * * z/OS' GEN function who want more control * * over how the NUMPARTS value for a * * partition-by-growth (PBG) and LOB auxiliary * * objects for a PBG table space are * * generated. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: This APAR delivers new enhancements * * to the Generate (GEN) function as * * described below. * * * * 1- The following new option is added * * that can be used to control what * * value for NUMPARTS is generated for * * a partition-by-growth (PBG) table * * space. * * * * PBG NUMPARTS value . . * * (Defined, Existing) * * * * Description: * * The value for the NUMPARTS clause * * should be for a partition-by-growth * * (PBG) table space if it is * * recreated. * * * * Defined - The NUMPARTS clause will * * be generated with the value used * * when the table space was created. * * * * Existing - The NUMPARTS clause will * * be generated with the value that * * currently exists. This value can * * be different from the defined value * * when partitions are added after the * * table space is created. PBG NUMPARTS value . . . (Defined, Existing) Description: The value for the NUMPARTS clause should be for a partition-by-growth (PBG) table space if it is recreated. Defined - The NUMPARTS clause will be generated with the value used when the table space was created. Existing - The NUMPARTS clause will be generated with the value that currently exists. This value can be different from the defined value when partitions are added after the table space is created. The existing value includes any added partitions. This is the default. 2- The following new option is added that can be used to control how LOB auxiliary objects are generated for a partition-by-growth (PBG) table space. PBG LOB objects . . . . (Computed, Implicit) Description: Whether the auxiliary objects for LOB columns in a partition- by-growth (PBG) table space should be recreated implicitly by DB2, or, if all of the auxiliary objects were created explicitly, to recreate them explicitly if they will be recreated. Computed - The auxiliary objects will be created explicitly if all of the DB2 required auxiliary objects exist and they were created explicitly. This is the default. Implicit - The auxiliary objects will be created implicitly by DB2.
