PH16342: LOW PERFORMANCE FOR AN UNLOAD IN SQL MODE OF LOB DATA

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• A performance issue may occur when unloading LOB data in SQL
  mode. The unload slows down along with the number of unloaded
  rows.
  This occurs when Db2 HPU retrieves the LOB data through LOB
  locators, i,e, in the following cases:
  - in HPU 4.3, if LOB data are unloaded in a spanned data set or,
    in Db2 prior to V9, if LOB data are unloaded as LOB files.
  - in HPU 5.1, if LOB data are unloaded in a spanned data set.
