Error description

• USERS AFFECTED: Users of Enterprise COBOL Vx.x compiling
  programs at OPT(0) with an extremely large
  number of data items with VALUE clauses, or
  compiling programs at OPT(1|2) with a large
  number of filler items with VALUE clauses.
  
  RECOMMENDATION TO CUSTOMER: Apply provided fix.
  
  PROBLEM SUMMARY: Register allocation was spending too much time
  selecting the
  optimal register in programs that contain a very large number
  of data items with VALUE clauses.  In addition, at OPT(1|2),
  the compiler was processing filler items with VALUE clauses in
  a non-optimal way.
  
  CONCLUSION: The compiler was updated to select an optimal
  register faster
  and to improve the processing of filler items with VALUE
  clauses at OPT(1|2).
  

Local fix

• WORKAROUND/CIRCUMVENTION: If you experience slow compile times
  when compiling a program
  with a large number of non-filler data items with VALUE clauses
  at OPT(0), try compiling with OPT(1) or OPT(2).
