Error description

  • There are not as many INZU376I messages as expected and some
INZU376I messages report an incorrect number of rows.
This occurs if several logical unload (SELECT) from separate
    UNLOAD commands share:
    - case 1) a common output dataset (same dataset name)
    - case 2) a common output TEMPLATE that describes data sets
allocated on tape with stacking (STACK YES option).

In such a case, a single INZU376I message is issued mentioning
only one of the tasks (SELECT n or UNLOAD n) but displayingthe
total number of rows unloaded for all the unload tasks sharing
    the same ddname.

For example, with an UNLOAD command as follows:
    TEMPLATE TAPEOUT
      DSN 'MY.HLQ.DATA.&UNIQ.'
UNIT TAPE RETPD 1 STACK YES
      DISP (NEW,CATLG,DELETE)

      UNLOAD TABLESPACE
         SELECT * FROM CREATOR1.TABLE1
         OUTDDN (TAPEOUT)
      UNLOAD TABLESPACE
         SELECT * FROM CREATOR2.TABLE2
         OUTDDN (TAPEOUT)
only one INZU376I message is issued as in the following example:
INZU222I SYS00011, TOTAL NUMBER OF RECORDS WRITTEN 3312401
INZU376I SELECT 1 NUMBER OF RECORDS WRITTEN 3312401
    PB54133

Local fix

  • None but, if having separate UNLOAD commands is not required,
consider merging the SELECT statements that share the same
output data set or TEMPLATE into a single UNLOAD command.
