Error description

• THE DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS ALTER function incorrectly
  generates a Drop and Create for a non Universal Table Space.

  *                 a partitioned table space.                   *

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A DROP/CREATE statement is generated    *
  *                      for changes to limit key values of a    *
  *                      partitioned table space which could     *
  *                      be performed by a DB2 ALTER statement.  *
  *                      This happens when the partitioning      *
  *                      column is either DECIMAL, INTEGER,      *
  *                      SMALLINT or BIGINT and the limit key    *
  *                      value of the changed partition has      *
  *                      less digits in the integer part of      *
  *                      the number than the other               *
  *                      partitions.                             *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

  A DROP/CREATE statement is generated for changes to limit key
  values of a partitioned table space which could be performed
  by a DB2 ALTER statement. This happens when the partitioning
  column is either DECIMAL, INTEGER, SMALLINT or BIGINT, and the
  limit key value of the changed partition has less digits in the
  integer part of the number than the other partitions.
