PI22135: "LOST CONNECTION PROMPT" THEN FORCED TO EXIT QMF AFTER <ATTN> KEY 14/07/16 PTF PECHANGE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The "Lost Connection Prompt" is issued then the user is forced
  to exit QMF loosing their query, after hitting the <ATTN>
  attention key in QMF.Note that this problem happens after the
  apply of the PTFs for APAR PM98142.

Problem summary

  * USERS AFFECTED: All QMF for TSO/CICS users.                  *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Users using the attention key to cancel *
  *                      a long running query may receive the    *
  *                      QMF Lost Connection prompt panel and    *
  *                      not be able to reconnect to the local   *
  *                      or any database.                        *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  Users pressing the ATTN key to interrupt QMF processing can
  cause QMF to loop on the Lost Connection prompt panel unable to
  connect again. Additionally, users trying to connect to remote
  DB2 for VM will receive MSGDSQ11504 Q.DSQEC_ALIASESL cannot be
  found.
  

Problem conclusion

• QMF has been corrected to handle warning messages during
  reconnect processing from errors and attention interrupts so
  that reconnect will work properly.
