Problem

The []AdminApp.edit[] and []AdminApp.update[] commands fail when you run either command in a wsadmin session that uses a SOAP or Remote Method Invocation (RMI) connector. This issue occurs when you are using WebSphere Application Server Express with the Feature Pack for Service Component Architecture (SCA).

Symptom

When you run the AdminApp.edit or AdminApp.update command an Array Index Out of Bounds exception results, which resembles the following text:
com.ibm.websphere.management.exception.AdminException
javax.management.MBeanException
com.ibm.websphere.management.exception.AdminException
java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException:
Array index out of range: 0

Resolving The Problem

Run the AdminApp.edit or AdminApp.update command in a local wsadmin session that has a conntype value set to NONE. Alternatively, use the administrative console to perform the application edit or update successfully.
