I already have FLEXlm installed and now wish to install DOORS. How do I run another FLEXlm service for DOORS without re-installing FLEXlm?

Answer

1. Place your license.dat file in the $DOORSHOME\lib directory.
2. In the $DOORSHOME\flex directory, create a new text file and name it "TelelogicFlex.log".
3. Click Start > Programs > Telelogic > DOORS 7 Tools > License Utility to bring up the LMTOOLS window.
4. On the "Service/License File" tab, choose "Configuration Using Services."
5. On the "Config Services" tab…
            In the "Service Name" field enter:  <new service name>
            In the "Path to the lmgrd.exe file" field, browse to the lmgrd.exe file (by default in $DOORSHOME\flex)
            In the "Path to the license file" field, browse to the license.dat file (by default in $DOORSHOME\lib) 
            In the "Path to the debug log file" field, browse to the TelelogicFlex.log file (by default in $DOORSHOME\flex) 
            Check "Use Services" and "Start Server at Power Up."
            Click "Save Service," then click "Yes."
